Really good art direction backed up by some decent now-gen technology. Explosions look great.

Graphics: 8.8
So much variety here, except the overzealous enemy AI almost ruins it.

Audio: 8.5
Good, but sort of unremarkable. The music is nice.

Longevity: 9.4
The single-player campaign is at least 20 hours, and that’s burning through. Mulitplayer will keep you on it for a long time to come.

Innovation: 9.4
Really shows what can be done in an open-world game outside of the old cops-and-robbers milieu.

7.0 Presentation
Weak story and characters you’ll probably forget as soon as they’re off screen. The interface is informative and works well. The map makes navigating the world convenient.

7.0 Graphics
Seeing buildings crumble and collapse is definitely cool and the explosions can be pretty, but in general there’s little that’s remarkable about the world, character, and vehicle design.

6.5 Sound
Some serviceable music tracks and sound effects. The voice acting is pretty weak.

8.0 Gameplay
Good, simple fun overall.

8.5 Lasting Appeal
A lengthy single-player campaign, an impressive multiplayer setup for online play. A more shallow setup for pass-the-controller local play.
